I woke up at 7am and took a shower. I ate toast for breakfast and cleaned Nate’s kitchen. I received my laptop in the mail and I uploaded pictures in the morning. We went to the office in Lake Stevens where I had had a summer internship during the previous summer and met my mentor Patrick.
Paul and I had decided that we would split up and ride solo. We said goodbye and he took off while I stayed in Lake Stevens for an extra night. It was sad to say goodbye to Paul and start riding on my own but it was for the best.
I went to the bike shop and bought a cleaning brush. The guy at the bike shop hooked me up with a free spoke replacement.
I reassessed all my gear and decided there were some things I could mail home. I went to Sports Authority and bought my 3rd rear view mirror. I had broken 2 on the trip. I had dinner with Nate and Andy again and we watched a movie. I was surfing the internet on my laptop. It was empowering to get internet technology again after not having it at my fingertips for a month.
