We woke up to blue skies and chilly weather. We rode into a mountaious desert landscape. We made it to Cashe Creek in the morning. There the Trans-Canada Highway turns south into the Frasier River canyon.
We had a headwind as we went south. It was a long, dry day and we ended up in Lytton when it got dark. I was separated from the group when I reached Lytton so I rode around town looking for the guys.
Two little girls started calling to me and told me they had seen the other cyclists. They told me to go to the church next to the visitor’s center. The guys had set up camp in the backyard of a church. I went into the backyard and went to bed after a long day of fighting headwinds.
In the tent I killed a 1-inch-long centipede with pincers on its tail. I lit a mosquito coil before going to sleep.
