In the morning Paul’s voice sounded like he was congested.
We got into a hilly stretch of road and we had some tough climbs. We stopped in Buckinghorse and Paul and I ordered poutine - a French Canadian dish consisting of french fries, gravy, and cheese.
I started eating single-serving peanut butter and jellies together.
I was listening to the audiobook The Head Trip by Jeff Warren. It was talking about lucid dreaming and hypnosis. I was focused on the book and that caused me to ride slow. After a while Frantz asked m to ride faster so I switched to my music and picked up the pace.
We stopped at Sasquatch Hotel, 100 miles from Fort Saint John. Paul was feeling very sick and weak so we ended up reserving a hotel room. Paul went straight to bed.
Frantz, Kosuke, and I paid to eat at the salad bar and we filled our stomachs.
Kosuke and I asked some oil worker guys if they could give us a ride to the liquor store 4 miles up the road. They chatted with us for a while and then said ok. We jumped into the car and drove to the store but the driver was so drunk that he was swerving all over the road the whole way.
Kosuke and I survived the car ride and returned to the hotel with beer. Pretty soon we all went to sleep but I woke up and had a beer with Meghan, the waitress from hotel.
