Day 27 - 176 km

I had a mushroom omelet for breakfast and we hit the road early.  The plan was for Frantz to ride the 100 miles to Fort Saint John as fast as possible, arriving at 6 or 7pm.  Kosuke and I would ride as fast as possible and get there by 9pm.  Paul would take it easy and get picked up by Frantz and Russ (our Couch Surfing host).
Kosuke and I prepared for a 100 mile ride by making plenty of snack food available in our packs.  We had to cross Pink Mountain in order to reach Fort Saint John.  We all gave Paul our support because he was still feeling sick.
I broke the speed limit of 55 km/hr going down a hill.
The first 50 miles went by fast.  We took a break at Wonowon and met Frantz there.  Kosuke spoke Japanese to a guy who was riding the Alaska Highway on a 110 cc motorcycle.
The second half of the day was harder because it was raining and I didn’t go as fast.  I took my shoes off and rode in my Crocs because my feet were so wet.  When I made it to Fort Saint John I got lost in the town because I mistook 100th St for 100th Avenue.  A nice Canadian couple offered me directions and a beer.  This raised my spirits and I found my way to Russ’s house.  Just as I aproached Russ’s house I saw Paul, Frantz, and Kosuke drive by in Russ’s truck.  Our plan had worked.
Russ owned a radio station in Fort Saint John.  He was a great host.  He treated us to steaks on the grill and drinks.  After dinner we enjoyed sitting around and talking.  Russ gave us full access to his alcohol and we made the most of it.  Paul went to bed early because he was feeling sick.

We stopped at a gaas station.
