This was the hottest day so far and there were a lot of hills. I took my shirt off and used some suntan lotion but I missed some spots because I got burned on my back and my sides.
We passed a huge coal mine in a mountain valley. This was in the proximity of the town of Grand Cache. I ran out of water before reaching Grand Cache so I stopped at a river to purify water. Just before the town of Grand Cache there was a 5 km hill. Sweat was pouring off my face as I climbed it. When I got to the top of the hill I filled my water bottle and sent it with a car down the hill to give to Paul.
Kosuke and I met in Grand Cache and went to buy beer. Then we settled on a bench where we could watch for Paul’s arrival. There was a hotel nearby and I went in and asked the owner if I could plug in my phone to charge it and he said yes. Then while Kosuke and I were sitting with our bikes, the owner of the hotel came out to us and started asking about our trip. Kosuke asked him where we could camp near Grand Cache. The owner ended up giving us a free room in the hotel.
Paul arrived and we were all happy because we had a hotel room. We all showered, ate, and drank some beer. We went to bed early and rested well in our beds.
