I woke up and rode back up the 2 mile hill to the highway. I got away with camping without paying.
I had a fun descent back down to the coast. Then the road climbed back up into the Redwood forest.
Eventually I came to Arcata. I called my old friend Tom who attended Humboldt State University. He told me how to get to his house. I picked up some food and beer on the way there. He lived with his girlfriend, Julia, and 3 roommates.
Tom and I got on our bikes and went to meet our friend’s Bryan and Ian. We had drinks and caught up. It was great to see them. We had all been best friends in middle and high school but had gone to different colleges.
