I packed up and said goodbye to the fraternity brothers. The president of the chapter, Cesario, showed me great hospitality.
I contacted Paul and found out he was in Portland and we decided to meet up. We met at the library, gout lunch at a food court, and went to a laundromat. Then we picked up Paul’s bike at a bike shop. He had bought a Brooks saddle; the same seat I had on my bike.
Paul and I rode to a bar called to Lucky Labrador to meet our friend Ben from Alaska who grew up with us. We had a beer with ben and then we all biked to Ben’s house. It got dark and started raining and Paul and I rode to Buffalo Wild Wings to meet another friend from Alaska, Gunnar.
On the way to meet Gunnar we were riding on NE Sandy Blvd. It was dark and a car was pulling out onto the road where Paul and I were riding. Apparently the driver didn’t see me (probably because his windows were so tinted) and he almost hit me.
We met Gunnar him and his fiancee and caught up over some beer and wings. After Buffalo Wild Wings, Paul and I went looking for a place to camp. We ended up setting up our tents in a grassy area under a bridge near the airport.
