Day 62 - 37 miles

After breakfast, Kera and I packed up and said goodbye.  It was sad to leave her but it was great to have spent time together on the coast.
The weather was rainy but I rode to the Cape Meares lighthouse and went inside to look at it.
I rode through Oceanside and asked for directions to the town of Netarts.  I passed Cape Lookout and made it over a 2 mile hill.  On Sandlake Road there was a cyclist fixing a flat at a gas station and we waved to each other.
About an hour later a motorist pulled over in front of me on the road and got out of his car.  His name was Johnathan.  While Jonhathan and I were talking the cyclist I had seen rode up and introduced himself as Mike.  Johnathan explained that he was a cyclist and he invited Mike and I to have a drink with him at his condo in the next town up the road, Pacific City.  Mike said he wanted to keep riding but I said I would like to join him.
Johnathan instructed m o meet him at Cape Kiwanda so I rode with Mike toward Pacific City.  Mike and I exchanged phone numbers and parted ways at Pacific City.  I met Johnathan at a fancy, new, luxurious condo.  We ate some chips and had a drink with some people next door.  There was a bartender pouring beer and wine.  I tried several types of beer from the Pelican Brewing Company in Pacific City.
Johnathan and I cooked a fish stew with potatoes, tomato, cilantro, mushrooms, onion, garlic, and fish.  Johnathan’s girlfriend Charlotte showed up and we all ate dinner together.  I had a nice evening with Johnathan and Charlotte.  What luck I had to get out of the rain and have  a great dinner with new friends.
After dinner I packed up to go find a place to camp.  I rode to Bob Straub Park to find a place to camp but I didn’t see any good places.  I rode aimlessly for a bit and I saw a covered carport by a house that looked deserted.  I set up my tent there and went to sleep.  Lights hit my tent and I woke up.  The people who lived in the house had come home.  They asked my to move my tent but they told me I could set up in the driveway of the house next door because they owned it and no one was there.  I moved next door and went back to sleep.
