We woke up, packed, and left the Battersby’s at around 8:30 am.
We ate at the grocery store for breakfast. Then we went to a bike shop and lubricated and tuned up our bikes in the parking lot before leaving town.
I joked with Kosuke that my heart was breaking when we left town because I would miss the girls in Whitehorse.
We were excited to get back on the road by the time we left town. We got into headwinds shortly after leaving town. When we reached Marsh Lake the water was white-capping and the road was soft dirt in a construction zone so I was barely able to ride faster than walking speed.
My eye had been hurting like there was something stuck in it. I looked at the contact lens saline solution that I had brought and it turns out it was actually nasal spray so I got rid of it and wore my glasses.
For dinner Paul and I had broccoli cheese flavored rice with instant rice and cheese in it.
We made camp in the woods near a parking lot that had a no camping sign in it. There was a beautiful little stream in the forest near our tent where we purified water. The parking lot also had outhouses and a container we used to store our food.
One of our tent poles was bent about 40 degrees because of how Paul packed it on his trailer. I bent it back so it was almost straight again.
